Week 22 pregnancy update

week 22 of pregnancy]
1. Trying out some new eyeshadows.  2. My phone case falling apart :(.  3. The baby changing unit we've bought from Mothercare (in love!).  4. Addicted to milk with strawberry crusha.  5. A positive message on a diet coke bottle.  7.  My growing bump (it's not all baby, but it's poking out more than it did!).  8.  Baking white choc & raspberry muffins for work (making them made me feel sick).  9.  Trying out a new caffeine free hot drink (Fruitbroo).  10.  Baking brownies for the first time for work.  (Yep, I only realised after typing this out I missed a 6 in the image, sorry!)

I'm now 2 weeks closer to V-Day - thats viable day, the date when your baby is officially considered viable if you give birth prematurely, and if your baby doesn't make it, you'll be given a death certificate and you'll have a funeral, it's a sad thing to think about but I'm not one to shy away from reality.

MY WEEK
So it's been a fun week as you can see from the pics, but I have been MIA on here, I've been super tired this week, not sleeping very well, I've been waking up really early with really achy sides, and then napping for up to 1 hr when I get home from work, so both this blog and my beauty blog suffered this week thanks to the pregnancy :)

EDIT: So last night (Sunday night) I felt the baby kick for the first time :)  I think may have felt it before but didn't feel sure, well, last night OMG loads of kicks! Some really really strong and some lighter, but there must have been around 30 kicks yesterday, maybe more :)  Made me feel very happy

SYMPTOMS
Pretty much the same, back-ache, tiredness, nausea (dry-wretching), heartburn - the same 4 I've had all the way through the pregnancy.  Nothings been worse, nothing better, all pretty much the same :)

WEIGHT & DIET
I'm up 4lbs in total now on my pre-pregnancy weight, I'm not surprised, I ate a lot of ice cream last week after craving raspberry ripple :)  It's been 2 weeks since I weighed myself too - and I normally weigh in leggins, today it was in jeans.  I still don't mind, as I should have gained quite a bit more by now :)  As for diet, it's been much of the same this week. Not really fancying anything and having a pretty weak diet.  I have been drinking lots of milk though which is great and I'm getting back into marmite (which we've just run out of!).

BUMP
That's the closest you're going to get for a bump photo for a while :)  I know I took the pic cleverly so it looks really round, but it's 2 bumps - I've had that as my shape for years, it's just all poking out a LOT more now I'm pregnant :)  Still haven't felt much in the way of movement, maybe a couple of pops but that's it, I have the anterior placenta to thank for that :)

NEXT SCAN/APPOINTMENT
Tuesday!!!! I'm excited as we get to see Squidge again :D  Hopefully the sonographer will be able to say boy or girl with a bit more certainty, if they do, I'll do a quick update on here on Tuesday too :)

BABY STUFF
Bought the biggest things this week, the pram travel-system (Graco Evo in Lime - on offer in Mothercare until Tuesday with £200 off!) and the baby changing table, it was the exact one I wanted, white with a wooden top and it's enclosed which is great for storage.  That also had £80 off, making it a much more stomachable £170 :)  The plan is that when Squidge has grown out of it, I'll use it all for storage, then when baby #2 comes along, it'll be a changing table again :)

  2. I craved ice cream and milkshakes (as well as Mccoys salt and vinegar crisips) with my little girl. I didn't have many of them before but now afterwards still think they are lush.

    1. Huh I wonder if there's anything in that :P Been loving S&V crisps too :P It's the milk I can't get enough of mostly (with crusha) - pretty addicted - even thought about taking some crusha to work and keeping some milk there to have some during the day :D

  3. Hi Georgina!

Happy to hear you are doing well! I really enjoy reading your blogs. Also now your website is not being blocked anymore at my work PC, so that reads and comments way easier than via tiny phone..
So great you could actually feel some kicks and then so many in a row too! I started to feel some kicks too, but I seem to have a lazy baby, 3 kicks is the max and then it is back to napping again or turning around? Who knows haha let´s see what happens in the next week.

I wonder how your scan was or will be! I have mine later this afternoon too.. very excited, hope everything will be okay. Little scared something might be wrong or not looking good. But I should be positve.

Is it so weird for you too, to imagine that you will have a little baby in your arms in only a few months? That will be wearing all those cute baby clothes and will be all dependent on you.. I really find that so unreal!

Great you bought so much stuff already! I should really use you as an example. I have nothing besides too much clothes. At the store they told us to order a pram soon cause if we have bad luck we will have to wait for it for 3 months.. Aaah I need to pick one ASAP. How did you pick one? Any specific criteria?

Such a lovely print on what you are wearing on your bump picture! I am sure you will look really pregnant really soon! If you aren´t already. I think others notice it way faster and more than you do yourself. I apperantly look like my due date is in july.. :s Although I really don´t see that myself haha

Also thanks for your Asda tip, in your comment in your other post!! I have seen that they deliver holland, not germany unfortunatly, but I could send it to my parents then. So now I will spend the rest of my afternoon looking at clothes and stuff there. I hope I won´t go crazy again and buy too much. ;)

Looking forward to your scan post!

    Take care!

    1. Hi Birgit :) What a lovely long comment :D

I've just realised/remembered, it's not possible to buy Asda clothes online :( Boo! However, I did find that H&M sold great baby clothes and good prices too, nice quality :)

Yay, glad for the blog not being blocked at work :D So much easier to reply via a desktop and keyboard :D Yeah with the kicks with me, I feel them on and off all day, Sunday was the best day for it, Squidge was kicking all the time. She seems to be quite active around 6-8 pm :)

      How did your scan go?

Thanks about the print on my top - it's very summery! I bought it 3 years ago and it was too big then and especially since as I lost weight. I kept it because I thought it'd make a great maternity top, and here I am!

Yeah it's crazy to think in like, 4-5 months time, I'll be cuddling my baby and taking care of their every need, I still find it hard to believe I have a baby in my tummy! lol

      Hope you're well xxx

  4. Haha I tend to write without checking what I wrote and keep going on forever.. ;)

That is a shame! But yes H&M has nice things too! I did order some clothes from Next and Tesco the other week and this week then some from H&M. You got some really cute stuff from them as well!

Yes much easier! I hope it will stay like this and they won´t block it again. So great you are feeling so much kicks now! It is so funny right, that there are specific times that they seem to be more active or you notice it more. I wonder or that will stay like that for a while or even soon after they are born.

Yes it went well, she couldn´t find any weird things and everything looked fine and healthy. Apperantly he has huge feet already.. haha Just like with the last scan he kept showing his feet more than his face. But in 90 minutes I have another scan, at this place where they have better equipment and and a beamer ;) Everybody that went there is al amazed by it so I am excited. Just hoping that little Bob (Working title (Bump Of Birgit;) is not sitting all difficult like with the last to scans. Butt down and feet or knees in his face. I wonder or they have tricks for making babies change positions hehe

That is great! It looks great. For me that is another reason to not throw anything away ;) I had that with some things too, a bit too big and never really wore it, but now I finally can! How are you doing with maternity clothes? Or are you still wearing lots of normal clothes? I mostly am, but slowly that is not really working anymore, I noticed first at work that half of my stomach comes out underneath my shirt as soon as take a few steps.. -_-

I know! I still have that too. Amazes me again every day. Even though I can feel him kick and see him on the scans I still can´t believe there is actually a baby in ma belly!

Hope you are well too! Looking forward to your next post! :)
Btw, will you have any more scans in the next time or will you need to wait for the one at 30 weeks too now? That is sooo long again!

    Have a nice afternoon!

    xx

    1. Not sure about more scans. The last sonographer said 'You'll be having plenty more scans anyway won't you' - due to my high-risk status, but I haven't been told that by anyone, so no idea... the last 2 days I haven't really felt the baby kick, so I might have to give the midwife a call if this keeps up, just to check she's ok in there :)
