5 Change bag essentials

5 change bag essentials

Ok, there might be more than 5 things I always carry in my change bag, like nappies, nappy bags, wipes, a change mat, spare dummies etc, but there's 5 other things which are always a staple and that regularly get used, and they're not all for the baby - here's my 5 change bag essentials.

Hand sanitizer
I always carry anti-bac with me and even when I'm at home, we use it pretty much after every nappy change. I actually carry 2 different ones, a Carex one, and the one in the picture 'No-Germs' - always good, especially if you're changing a poopy nappy (of course, I always wash my hands as well!).

Hand cream
The only other time in my life that my hands have been this dry, was when I was working in operating theatres and they were being washing like, 100 times a day.  Well, I must be up to that number again as they're crazy dry.  At home I'm using E45 on them throughout the day, but when I'm out and about, the 'Protect Your Lovely Hands' is great - it's intensive and nourishing and works really well.

Sudocrem care & protect
I must admit, I absolutely love Sudocrem - if we forget to use the care & protect at every nappy change (ideally how it should be used), and we notice he gets a little bit red, we put some of this on and by the next nappy change all the redness has gone!  It's so easy to apply, and another thing I love, if you do apply it at every nappy change, it does make poopy nappies easier to clean up as it works as a barrier between their skin and the poop.  We've been using it every day since he was born and he's never had nappy rash :)

Nivea lip butter
As much as I have a ridiculous lipstick collection, it's lip balm I tend to wear the most.  When you're out and about in the fresh air, your lips tend to get dry, and, I don't know about you, but I certainly find it much more challenging to keep hydrated when you have a little one, which tends to keep my lips drier - so this is a bag essential for me.  This particular one from Nivea is one of my favourites, it smells so good!

Spare bag
If you don't live in Wales, this won't be such a big deal, but here we have to pay for the carrier bags Supermarkets and shops give us, yeah it's only 5p, but what with wanting to do my part in helping to save the planet, I keep a fold up bag in the change bag so I always have a decent and strong bag with me at all times :)

Ok so these might not be the most exciting, but they're 5 things I always keep in the bag and regularly use :)
