John Lewis & M&S Baby Clothing haul

Sorry I haven't really blogged over the last week - I've been busy with Squidge :)  However, I have lots of posts planned for this next week including his 6 month update tomorrow, yikes!

As you might recall, he's been busy growing out of his 3-6 months clothes and is now in 6-9 months clothes, most of which are a bit big for him but at least they fit over his head and are long enough for his legs :)  I had a load of vouchers to spend, £100 John Lewis, and £60 in M&S - as well as spending all of these, I also bought 1 item with my own money from each shop making this a VERY expensive haul! But only spending around £25 of my own money, bargain :)  Here's what I bought:

Sun hat and little shoes from John Lewis (as you can expect, with the current fashion trend being nautical, a lot of the baby clothes are in that style too)
John Lewis sun hat and shoes

Nautical socks from John Lewis
John Lewis socks

2 pairs of trousers from John Lewis - the blue pair roll up to turn into shorts (as demo'd on the one leg of the blue pair)
John Lewis troushers

A blue whale shirt from John Lewis - I freakin' love this shirt!

A linen blue and white striped shirt from John Lewis

Green stripy giraffe dungarees from M&S - these were a gift from my mother-in-law
M&S Dungarees

Pyjamas from M&S - 2 sets - these were also a gift from my mother-in-law
M&S pyjamas

Adorable shoes from M&S
M&S shoes

1 set of sleepsuits and 1 set of vests from M&S - I love the designs on these, some are jungle themed, some are coloured, and one of each have bananas on :)
M&S sleepsuits and vests

Geeky superhero vests from M&S - nice, not cheap and not great quality
DC vests

Cat sleepsuit from M&S - seeing as I'm a bit of a cat lady, I just *had* to buy this

Navy blue linen trousers from M&S
Baby boy M&S trousers

So there you have it, a LOT bought - can you imagine if I spent all that money in Asda instead, how many more clothes I'd have been able to buy!?  But at least this way he has super lovely clothes, really nicely made, great quality and very, very on-trend :)

Huge Sainsburys baby haul

There's quite a few things I've been needing to get for Squidge - mostly things that aren't in this haul - like lots of proper clothes - but I have vouchers earmarked for most of that, I just need to find time to get into town and buy the stuff - but I can't take long as he's pretty much grown out of his current size clothes and really needs next size up stuff.

Ok, he didn't 'need' all of this, but you know, it's fun to buy stuff for him :P  Here's what I bought:

'Guess how much I love you' bibs - this set of 3 were £5, and some next size up socks - I thought these were really cute - some have planes on and some have helicopters on :)
Sainsburys bibs and socks

Funny story with these tops - they were originally priced at £2.50 each but were previously on offer for 2 for £4.  However, they were in a reduced section saying 50% off - so surely 2 for £2? Well we had a bit of a 'discussion' with the man on the till as he was charging us £1.25 each, we argued the point, he called a supervisor over and we got it for 2 for £2 - bargain :)
Sainsburys baby tops
I really couldn't resist this outfit - dungarees and a cute nautical vest, perfect for warmer weather as the dungarees are shorts - I can't wait to see him in these! This outfit was £10.

As we're weaning him and have been for 6+ weeks, he's now on the next stage of weaning, so little puffs like this, finger food and mash (lumpy).  I'm loving giving him different foods to explore and see his little fact when he has it :)  I wouldn't normally buy things like this, but I just wanted to see how he'd get on with them.
Kiddy puffs
Every morning with his bottle he now has a small bowl of porridge.  He was having the Cow & Gate Sunny Start plain porridge which he really likes, but I thought I'd try him on a flavour - so far so good!  The pouch of Pears & Baby rice from HiPP organic is one of his favs, so I've bought it to use when he's trying a vegetable that he doesn't like.  I've read that if you give them a flavour (like fruit) that they like after a vegetable they don't, they're more likely to like the veg they don't like, if you follow?  I think I said 'like' too much :P
Pouches and Porridge
In an effort to give him some soft food with chunks I thought I'd give these a go too.  Don't worry, he gets bits of fresh fruit and veg too - just today he's had celery, pineapple, blueberries and potato - all fresh :)
HiPP Organic food pots
I had to get this - it's so far is favourite savoury flavour - we found adding a little of this to mashed potato was a great success.  He didn't like potato as it was, but with this he really liked it.  Next time he'll have more mash and less of this, until he's on pure mash and loving it :)  I mean, I'm half Irish, he HAS to love potato - especially with the amount of it I ate when I was pregnant!
HiPP Organic food jar
On days when he's really fussy, I'm finding that I don't have time to wash up between feeds as he's with me almost constantly.  I only had 3 feeding spoons for him, so I picked up this pack too.  I actually prefer them to the Tommee Tippee ones I have, even though the TT ones are great as they change colour if the food is too hot.  I also picked up the Nuby teether ring, he loves this - it's either in his mouth, or he's busy throwing it on the floor!  Also on a recommendation I picked up a Nuby Nibbler - you put big chunks of fruit in it and they nosh it up through the mesh, so there's no risk of choking.  The fruit he has in it is fresh from the fridge, so nice and cold on his sore gums too.
Nuby haul

Ready for him turning 6 months, I picked up the next level teets for his Tommee Tippee bottles.  He's not ready for these yet, but I wanted to have them ready to try for when the time is right.

The other thing I've needed to update are his dummies.  The ones he's currently using are 0-6 months, I believe these ones are a bit bigger, making them less of a choking hazard.  I wasn't going to buy 4 packs, but they were on offer - instead of £5 a pack, they were 2 packs for £6 which is great - so I shopped the offer.  3-4 of them will stay up in his nursery (he throws them out of the cot in the night, so we need plenty of backups) - another 1-2 will be kept in his change bag, and the other couple will stay in the lounge :)

So there you have it, a very big Sainsbury's haul and I still have loads of stuff to buy.  I need another few sleepsuits, more trousers, more tops, more socks and a new coat! I have vouchers for M&S and John Lewis which is where I'll be buying everything from, so keep your eyes peeled for a big baby clothing haul then! I also bought 3/4 pairs of trousers for him from M&Co this week, I'll add them to his next-size-up haul :)

Baby Winter Mothercare clothing haul

After an impromptu trip to town on Friday to spend my Nectar points on a Nexus 7 tablet (finally!) with the mother in law, we found ourselves venturing into Mothercare for some Dr Browns level 2 teets - as Squidge is on comfort milk, it's a lot thicker and the level 1 teets tend to get blocked all the time.

Anyway, while I was there I of course browsed through the baby boy clothes and after agonising over if I should get anything, I realised I had a gift voucher in his change bag for £45.  Needless to say, the agonising was over and I started to shop :)  The booties I was going to buy anyway, as he doesn't really have any dark warm shoes, so this will be well used as they'll go with a lot of his outfits. Anyway, here's a closer look at what I bought.

Blue booties with faux fur lining, £7

Dr Browns level 2 teets £3.99 per pack - I know these say for 3+ months, but these are for the thicker comfort formula - if we go back to the normal formula, we'll make sure we use the normal teets, until he's 3 months old :)

I loved these cute dungarees, they're made of really soft material and they have poppers at the bottom for easy access to nappy change - it also came with the stripy vest which is super soft and lovely quality.  I love the little animal face detailing on this - it was £16

Two pairs of soft stripy trousers with little 'fly' detailing (love that!), they're not super thick like the ones I've bought from Sainsburys, but they're very cute! These were £7 for the pair.

Two pack of winter themed tops, this little one at the front with the bear on it has yellow elbow patches, very cute! It was £8 for the two.

And finally, his star pyjamas, I adore these!!! I'm obsessed with stars, I love them, he has a lot of clothes with stars on it as a result, and I wanted to get some proper PJs for him, the only other ones he has are short sleeved so no good for winter, these will be perfect with a vest underneath :)

With the gift voucher I only ended up spending £13 of my own money, which I was pretty happy with!  With the Nexus 7 too, I used £137.50 of saved Nectar points, so only had to spend £12 of my own money - a fairly thrifty well-spent day if I do say so myself :)

JellyCat haul

JellyCat dust bag

I promised this last week, it's a bit late but better late than never.  So, a blogger I know tweeted me a few weeks ago asking if I knew about JellyCat.  I literally thought she was talking about an internet cat, oh how wrong I was!

She pointed me in the direction of their website and I immediately fell in love.  I knew exactly what I wanted to buy for Squidge, and that was the bedtime bunny (23cm tall, and £13).

Bedtime Bunny jellycat

Yes we're having a boy and yes I bought this when I thought we were having a girl, but I don't think that'll be a problem, it's just a little bunny in a night gown, and I'm sure Squidge will love it.  It's super soft and very cute, I'm actually tempted to build up a collection of these for me as I love them so much!

Once the bedtime bunny arrived, I was struck with JellyCat fever!  So back onto their website I headed to have a look at what else I could buy.  I knew I needed/wanted to get some little teddy ornaments for the pram, and JellyCat sell them, so I picked three I really liked the look of, and took the plunge.  Here are the three I bought.

Penguin JellyCat
 £12

Owl jellycat
 £8

JellyCat octopus
£12

A penguin, an owl and an octopus.  I didn't realise this until they arrived, but both the penguin and octopus have pull strings on them and they vibrate back up to a short string, nice!

The quality of the teddy's are fantastic, no loose stitching, all very neat and using high quality materials and if you buy them online, they each come in their own little dust bag. Don't get me wrong, you get what you pay for, they're not exactly cheap, but hopefully what we have out of it are teddys/toys that Squidge will grow up loving, and that's a price I'm happy to pay for.

Here's the baby collection of JellyCat toys :)
